Mike graduated from the top Ukrainian mathematical school Richelieu Lyceum and obtained his master’s in logistics management from Odessa National Maritime University. During his study, he received multiple student awards and completed his master’s degree with honours.

Mr. Gerasymov has about 20 years of work experience in the maritime industry. He dedicated most of this time to commercial operations, chartering, derivatives trading, and risk management. He worked on managerial positions in various prominent shipping corporations. He is currently employed by Swire Group and covers Risk and Insurance functions for their container and dry bulk businesses.

Being a fourth-generation shipping professional in his family, Mike is passionate about this industry and advocates for sustainable business development. He focuses on the problems of global freight trading and looks for solutions to various inefficiencies and unsustainable practices. Mike is an active advisor for shipping accelerators and a mentor for the innovative commercial shipping startup. About 10 years ago, Mike and his family immigrated to Singapore.

For the recent years, Mr Gerasymov has spoken about shipping businesses’ mathematical modelling and commercial management at multiple international conferences.
