Alexandros Ampatzis is a seasoned marine insurance professional with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He has held various senior underwriting and managerial positions, particularly within the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

In November 2024, Ampatzis was appointed as Head of Marine for APAC at Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK), based in Singapore. In this role, he is responsible for expanding TMK’s presence and driving growth in target markets across the region.

Prior to joining TMK, Ampatzis served as Marine Manager for South-East Asia at global US insurance carrier as well as, he held several roles at a multinational European Insurance carrier including Deputy Head of Marine Cargo Underwriting in Singapore.

Ampatzis began his career in Europe, spending seven years as a Risk & Insurance Manager in a freight forwarding company before transitioning to a global marine insurance carrier as a Cargo Underwriter. His extensive experience encompasses marine cargo Hull and related liabilities underwriting, with a strong focus on the APAC region over the past decade.

Throughout his career, Ampatzis has been actively involved in industry associations, serving as a member of marine committees in insurance associations in both Europe and Singapore.
