For more than 15 years, I held command of a range of vessels in the offshore oil and gas industry and successfully conducted diverse shiphandling activities including:
• anchor-handling for drill rigs and pipe-lay barges
• towing of jack-up and semi-submersible rigs and barges
• manoeuvring of barges alongside offshore facilities and in port
• coordinating multiple vessels (including tugs) during complex barge movements
• seabed construction activities
• offshore facility supply operations
• replenishment at sea
Before joining the offshore industry, I sailed on LNG carriers as second and third officer. Including my time as a cadet with BHP Transport, I have experience on bulk carriers, ro-ro vessels, general cargo vessels, chemical tankers, LPG tankers, LNG carriers, anchor-handling tug/supply vessels, offshore support vessels and seismic survey vessels.
