The first session will set the scene and focus on casualty handling, emergency response, relevant contracts, applicable regulations and conventions and initial investigation. Loss of life, pollution, complex salvage operations, extensive investigations, port restrictions, continuing environmental risk and dangers, complicated and lengthy average adjustments, huge cargo claims, jurisdictional and security battles and significant insurance losses are a few of the effects of fires and explosions on large container ships.  The increased TEU on container ships has increased the risks to the maritime industry.
